Day 2 of temple visits

Angkor Wat at dawn - bike race day; magestic setting.

The following photographs are from Preah Khan, an impressive maze of sandstone corridors and hallways, and beautiful courtyards. The walls, ceilings, and even the ground underfoot were intricately etched from stone.

The following photographs are from Banteay Samre. We hadn't originally planned to visit this temple. It is one of the few temples which have not had significant restoration

The following photographs are from Banteay Srie, considered the jewel in Angkorian art, constructed from stone of a pinkish hue

The statues through the window are considered the protectors of the temple; didn't want to get too close.

The following photographs are from Kbal Spean, a spectularily carved riverbed deep in the jungle. The setting is breathtaking

  1. I think the river photo is one of your most interesting shots so far. Time takes back it's own history. Angkor Wat is now definitely on my bucket list.
