Last night we went out for Kiwi's birthday and we enjoyed a fantastic meal, perfect gin & tonics, and to die for cappuccinos at Sankara in Mui Ne. Whoever is managing this bar/restaurant has it totally dialed. Atmosphere double check, music selection check, sound quality check, food check, drinks check, staff check. It was a lovely birthday evening out.
When we returned from dinner the staff at our hotel had prepared a surprise for Kiwi. An entire birthday cake complete with his name, chocolate wafers, and whipped cream bears! The same tacky as hell white cake you can buy from the grocery stores in Canada, cracked us up. The 2 kiddos in the photo followed the cake up to our room and helped Kiwi blow out the candle, then the little girl shook his hand and wished him a happy birthday. Adorable!
As most of you know Kiwi doesn't eat cake so we had to find a way to get rid of this cake without offending the staff. We set off around the resort handing out slices of cake to anyone and everyone and in the end we only had 2 tiny slices left which we flushed down the loo to hide the evidence. It's the thought that counts.
What a sweet gesture. It was the icing on the cake so to speak.
I hope you know that it is NOT okay with me that you FLUSHED CAKE DOWN THE TOILET!!! Hilarious, but not okay.
ReplyDeleteDammit I want cake now.
